Not to be confused with Dance Movement Therapy, which is a clinical practice and has a framework enabling participants to work at emotional depth, these sessions nonetheless have a positive benefit for physical and mental health.
This is not a technique class, movements are guided rather than taught and participants are encouraged to explore their own movement vocabulary.
The sessions are underpinned by exercise, movement and dance principles and do contain movement for strength, balance and flexibility but mostly they are hidden within the explorations.
There is no right or wrong way to do the movements, just being in the spirit of the moment, enjoying the music and the company. It’s more about staying connected, having a bit of fun and supporting each other.
